Mona (She/her)

I am an integrative therapist, using a range of theories to best support clients. I particularly identify with Person Centred, DBT, and critical theories such as Feminist and Queer theories.

My experience as a counsellor, voluntary work for a range of helplines, and community mental projects ensure I can work with a range of clients. I have an MSc in Psychology and an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Research interests include therapists experience working with trans clients, and the gendered perception of obese bodies.

I have previous lived experience of generalised anxiety and am currently managing a chronic condition resulting in reduced mobility. These experiences have shaped how I work, including having a passion for true accessibility.

I had a family member who transitioned their gender in the 1970s, so I understand that gender non-conformity is not a new concept. My interest in social constructivism also frames my belief in multiple truths, and that identity and language is constructed, and does not need to be binary.

My specialisations include LGBTQIA+, neurodiversity, non-monogamy, disability, and chronic illness including chronic pain. I work with individuals 18 or over who are based in Ireland, the UK, or elsewhere in Europe.
